UK-based polymer and fuel cell component company Bac2, has promoted Jim Totczyk to director of operations from his previous position as production manager.
Totczyk will now oversee all aspects of supply chain management, production and customer service.
He joined Bac2 from Meggitt Avionics in 2007 where, as head of operations, he introduced lean manufacturing processes to the business. Before that he was with Brookes and Gatehouse for as director of manufacturing, specializing in polymer moulding techniques.
Bac2 develops advanced composite materials and components derived from these materials, including electrically conductive plastic from which the company manufactures conductive plates for fuel cells.
The company is moving from research and development to commercial production and hopes to up volumes to millions of units annually in the next few years, if the adoption of fuel cell technology accelerates.
