Gamesys announces the appointment of Dan Thompson as non-executive director

Dan Thompson has joined London-based Gamesys Ltd as a non-executive director of Gamesys.
Dan Thompson commented: “I am very excited about Gamesys and the opportunity in this sector. I have been impressed with the company’s software, their commercial partnerships and the management team that Noel Hayden has assembled.”

Noel Hayden, Managing Director of the company, said “This is a very exciting time for Gamesys as we continue to expand the business and prepare to launch new products. We are boosting our management team and Dan has the experience to help us define our strategy and execute the business plan accordingly.”
Dan Thompson:
Dan has 15 years experience of running companies – from private start-ups to publicly quoted PLCs – and advising clients in the media and entertainment sectors. He founded 365 Corporation in 1997 and floated it on the London Stock Exchange in 1999. When he stood down as CEO in 2001 the group had 600 employees and annual turnover in excess of £50 million.

Prior to 365, he had been a founder (in 1990) and subsequently CEO (1992) of Renegade Software – a publisher of computer and console games. After successive years of revenue and profit growth he sold Renegade to Time Warner in 1994 and became Deputy Managing Director of Time Warner Interactive.

Dan graduated from Oxford University in 1982 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse in 1985. Dan is a non-executive director and adviser to a number of companies in the media, technology and leisure sectors.
