Reed Boardall Stop the Siphoning

Frozen Food Distributor Reed Boardall are the latest company to experience the benefits of TISS’ anti-siphon devices after equipping their entire fleet of 160 trucks with TISS’ market-leading ‘FloatChamber’ anti-siphon.
Reed Boardall’s Group Finance Director, Marcus Boardall, commented: “Our drivers and vehicles are coming under increasing threat from criminals due to the rising value of the fuel they carry. It makes sound commercial sense to protect them and to secure the company’s interests using the very best methods available to us. The TISS anti-siphon device is the best method available and has quickly proved to be a very worthwhile investment.”
TISS Sales Director Ryan Wholey was delighted with Mr Boardall’s remarks: “we are pleased to hear about Reed Boardall’s decision to fit their entire fleet and especially delighted that they are reaping the benefits of fitting the anti-siphons. With the anti-siphon devices costing just £125 the financial savings are self-evident.”
The success of the anti-siphon device is due to its unique FloatChamber design; it is the only anti-siphon available that prevents any fuel being siphoned. Whilst other standard anti-siphons help deter 3rd party theft, even the shortest anti-siphon will still leave the top part of the tank exposed to fuel theft. The FloatChamber does not; due to its unique float valve which locks off once the tank has been filled, therefore protecting the entire fuel tank and saving the customer thousands of pounds a year.
Ryan Wholey explains a further benefit of the device: “Because of the FloatChamber’s unique design, it is effective in preventing any possibility of diesel spillage, a health and safety issue which is gaining increasing recognition. Not only are spillages costly for the truck operator, but they are also potentially hazardous for all road users, so we are delighted that the FloatChamber combats this issue”.
Mr Boardall concurred with Ryan’s assertion and praised the device: “I found the FloatChamber to be well manufactured and the only system available that completely prevents fuel theft. It is easy to fit and represents excellent value for money.”
Reed Boardall are one of a number of high profile companies in the temperature controlled distribution sector to fit TISS anti-siphons. Other customers include Corby Chilled Distribution and Fowler Welch Coolchain Ltd, who have also fitted their entire fleet of vehicles with the anti-siphon.
