Aria Networks signs SDN partnership with NEC

Aria Networks, a UK-based provider of unique network planning and optimisation applications and services for telecom, cloud and over-the-top social network service providers, today announces a joint marketing and technology partnership with NEC, meaning Aria Networks has become an NEC software defined networking (SDN) partner.

The agreement sees Aria Networks join other key players in the SDN space such as Alcatel Lucent, Broadcom, Microsoft, Dell and HP in a community run by NEC Corporation to create an ecosystem around the SDN OpenFlow and Programmable Flow protocols.

NEC has delivered SDN-based systems to more than 200 companies around the world. NEC is providing SDN-based solutions to businesses, government departments, telecommunication carriers and data centre operators throughout the world, with a focus on solutions that combine NEC’s original technologies, products and services with products from a selected group of industry leading partners such as Aria Networks.

Steve Newton, Chief Executive Officer of Aria Networks comments: “NEC’s leadership and vision in the SDN market is well regarded globally.  Aria Networks will join a select number of companies that represent best practice for delivering software defined solutions globally.  By partnering with NEC Aria Networks can benefit from the company’s scale and global reach.”

”NEC is pleased to jointly work with Aria Networks in NEC SDN Partner Space ecosystem to create new business value proposition leveraged on the use of SDN networks.” said Timur Aliev, Head of Product Strategy and Innovation at NEC Europe. “By aligning our expertise in carrier and enterprise domains with Aria Networks, NEC will ensure customers benefit from open Programmable Flow APIs that extend the standard Openflow capabilities for extended virtual networks management functions and complexity abstraction.”
