Mydeo announces enterprise rich media delivery offering

Mydeo, the UK video hosting company, has launched an enterprise version of its popular video hosting service under the name m3 (Mydeo Media Manager).
The service, aimed primarily at the SME markets, provides a simple web-based uploading and reporting interface for enterprises requiring high quality media delivery to increase their website performance, run rich campaigns, build brands and boost sales. m3 supports all the major video formats including Flash, Windows Media and QuickTime as well as the majority of other popular media file formats.Co-branded versions for a number of both agencies and traditional hosting providers looking to find an affordable entry level into enterprise content delivery to offer their clients will be available shortly.
The service aims to help businesses overcome some of the technical difficulties associated with delivering high resolution media files on their websites such as poor delivery quality and reduced site performance. “While it’s possible to host and deliver high quality video files using your web-host” commented Mydeo’s Founder and CEO, Cary Marsh, “in reality, even the slightest fluctuation in traffic levels can seriously impact site performance. m3 solves all this. Delivering files via a dedicated, fully scaleable network optimised for media delivery, video and other rich media files are delivered effortlessly – even to the largest online audiences – allowing the website to remain fully engaged with the customer.”
Mydeo launched in Spring 2005 following an R&D grant for Technical Innovation from the DTI. By the end of 2005 Mydeo were Microsoft’s European Windows Movie Maker partner, providing high quality Windows Media hosting services for XP users worldwide. In October 2007 Mydeo announced investment from Best Buy Inc, the largest consumer electronics retailer in the US. Mydeo now powers their Best Buy Video Sharing service.
“From the outset our consumer hosting service always attracted business users. We’ve created m3 to address their needs i.e. delivering a range of file formats, a detailed statistical reporting interface and easy media management via grouping and tagging, all at very competitive rates that will be attractive from the SME market upward”.
Following investment last year Mydeo began a ground up rebuild of their service, including a new API, in Microsoft’s new .Net architecture. m3 is the first service to be released on the new platform and is being launched ahead of the new consumer version (due out in September) due to high levels of demand from business users.
