TISS enhance their ‘TankSafe Range’

Having established themselves as the world’s leading provider of anti-siphon devices, TISS Security Systems anticipate continued growth in 2009. The Blackpool based company have enhanced their TankSafe range of devices with the introduction of ReeferSafe, the only anti-siphon for refrigerated vehicles’ tanks on the market.

Richard Forster, TISS’ Technical Manager, stated: “The development of ReeferSafe is a result of great demand from our customers, many of whom already significantly benefit from fitting our TankSafe ‘Impregnable’ fuel security and safety device and our NEW ‘Standard’ anti-siphon.”
ReeferSafe has been an immediate success: 3,600 units have already been sold since the start of 2009 to numerous customers including Freshlinc, the leading specialist refrigerated Distribution Company. Furthermore, TISS are relaunching ‘CurtainSafe’, their patented anti-slash material for curtainsider trailers. ‘Curtainsafe’ prevents thieves gaining access to loads in addition to preventing any internal damage to curtains from forklifts or shifting loads.

The relaunch of ‘Curtainsafe’ occurs at a significant time as more Hauliers are demanding greater security and safety measures. The reasons are obvious as Truckpol has recently reported that HGV crimes almost doubled from 2,284 in 2007 to 4,171 in 2008. The damage this caused to the economy is estimated at over £100m.

Fitting ‘Curtainsafe’ not only means considerable savings for hauliers, by securing loads and reducing the need for costly repairs, but it also has extremely important safety implications: if advertised to thieves, the presence of ‘CurtainSafe’ can prevent drivers to be attacked by criminals.
Ryan Wholey, TISS Managing Director, commented: “The time is right for a relaunch of ‘CurtainSafe’: in times of economic uncertainty, unfortunately crime levels always rise. Therefore, improved security and safety offerings are indispensable for Hauliers”.
