Benton Brothers Stop the Siphoning

Boston based Benton Brothers have recently completed fitting their fleet of HGVs with TISS’ anti-siphons. The haulage firm, which operates 96 trucks from 2 depots, fitted the systems to combat the costly fuel theft they were experiencing.
Benton Brothers Workshop Manager, Ben Ashton, explains: “prior to purchasing the systems, one truck a month was having its tank drained by thieves. Since fitting TISS anti-siphons I am delighted to report that we have had no further incidences of fuel theft”.
Benton Brothers were experiencing a problem that is endemic throughout the haulage industry. An FTA survey regarding theft revealed that 700 respondents had reported a total of 894 incidences of fuel theft in just 12 months. This theft equated to 317,453 litres stolen; a huge potential profit which is literally being siphoned away.
Mr Ashton continued: “with the increasing rise in fuel prices, the problem is only going to get worse, which is why we decided to act”.
Benton Brothers chose to fit the TISS ‘Standard’ anti-siphon; one of three types of anti-siphon available from TISS Security Systems. The ‘Standard’ is the most cost-effective anti-siphon available and at only £64 is an excellent preventative measure against 3rd party theft.
Workshop Manager Mr Ashton praised the system: “Each device was fitted in under one minute. There was no adverse effect on filling speeds. Due to the lack of fuel theft since fitting the fleet I am very confident that the anti-siphons will prove highly cost effective”.
TISS Sales Director, Ryan Wholey, was delighted with Mr Ashton’s comments: “the fact that Benton Brothers have had no incidences of fuel theft since purchasing the systems, clearly demonstrates the benefits and financial savings that are gained by fitting the anti-siphon”.
The TISS anti-siphon costs £64 to £125 depending on the make of vehicle. TISS also sell a range of other vehicle and trailer security systems including GPS trailer tracking, trailer alarms and slash-resistant curtains.
