Million-2-1 to launch Barcrest mobile gaming offering

Mobile gaming content developer Million-2-1 has signed a partnership with gaming machine manufacturer Barcrest to develop Java-based mobile versions of its slot games. Barcrest is the UK arm of by US gaming machine manufacturer IGT and the announcement marks its entry into the mobile gaming market.
Chris Sheffield, chief executive of Million-2-1, said the mobile gaming market was looking promising as increasing numbers of large scale firms such as Barcrest were realising the potential offered by mobile gambling.
“Barcrest has a very strong estate across UK pubs, arcades and bingo halls and its machines offer games with household brands such as Elvis, Rocky and Monty Python. The company has a 40-year history of activity behind it and the brands are relevant and powerful,” Sheffield said.
The communication and promotion of the products would be done via Million-2-1’s partnerships with radio groups such as TalkSport and UTV and with Vodafone and O2’s WAP sites and the first Barcrest-branded products should be released in January.
Sheffield said he had been working on the deal for two years and key to clinching it was proving that Milllion-2-1 was totally compliant with UK regulations in all its activities.
